Ok, answer me this; I have the American Airlines B777-223ER downloaded from here, (Ithink).....

I'm sitting at the gate after choosing an airport, but I'm cattywumpus to the gate, so I turn on the slew to back up a little, and straighten out. when I turn off slew, I'm instantly moving forward at 275kts and accelerating! Not good when its into a building! What is causing this crap!?

Try pressing "Shift P" to back up and you wont have that problem.

If you use the slew function, hit "A" before turning the slew off. What is happening is you are moving to another elevation ( even though it may only be a few feet ) and FS2002 sees this and, in an attempt to help you out, it puts your plane above stall speed. This is a feature in 2002 that if you slew over great distances and you are at oh, lets say 5000 feet for example, when you turn slew of, you won't immediatly stall out & nose dive. The down side of it is, FS can't differentiate 1 ft vs 30,000 ft, so if it sees even 1 ft diff, your at 275 knts and don't even realize you're really off the grond. So hitting "A" will set you back on the ground and then when you turn off slew, you'll stay stopped.

This is related to the way slew works in FS2k2. It has to have a speed of 250 kts or faster so that the plane doesnt stall or something. To aviod this, press F1 when you finish slewing. Even if you did not go any higher than the ground, the plane will hoover a few inches above the ground.

Hey!! Great call! hitting "A" works. Thanx. Now if I could only get the wheels on top of the tarmac instead of halfway underground, I'd be in business!
