Thread: FSX EE Lightning?

  1. Default FSX EE Lightning?

Has anyone done an FSX EE Lightning, I've looked everywhere, already got the AlphaSim FS2004 version, but that doesn't work either (I got it when I was still running FS9).

    thanks

Just found this thread while searching for any new EE Ltng models that may have appeared.

I'm a bit new at this but I've worked up the air files and 2D photo cockpit panels for the F53 (export F6). The free Ltng download I found seemed to be an old Alphasim model, at least the air files carried their name (I've completely rebuilt them). The flight model was completely naff including things like the Learjet wing and inertia moments more like a B747 than a Lightning. It flies quite well (anecdotally) but I'm a bit stuck on the 3D model and cockpit. It's an uphill struggle learning to create the 3D in gmax and I've put it on the back burner for now. I just run my 2D cockpits alongside the d/loaded external model. I expect there would be copyright issues or something if I uploaded it, either from the existing FS designer(s)/modders or even BAe over the instrument photos I took in the cockpit.

I've still got a few gauges to do (I borrowed a couple from other a/c) including the cockpit indicator light units but its gone a bit cold on me now. It has a Main Panel view of all the instruments (not practical for continuous flying), a 'flying' cockpit covering essential instruments for transitional flight, navigation etc. but still not great a for realistic forward view and a 'pilot view' with instrument bare minimums visible and a few essentials transposed that are otherwise out of view but giving a more realistic forward view for approaches etc. as seen when staring straight out ahead (They run as windows 1, 2 and 3.)

I was hoping to give it to the museum where I work (a charity) to bring in some shop sales but again I expect there's be copyright battles. So for now its on the back-burner and I guess will remain a 'strictly home use' project.

Meanwhile, if anyone has heard of a full blown FSX lightning I'd love to hear about it.

If you are still looking Just Flight have brought out an EE Lightning F6, avilable either as a download or a boxed version via their website. Haven't seen any reviews or comments about it so have no idea good (or not) it is.
