Default Will it run FSX maxed?

I just ordered a computer from HP with the following specs, will it run FSX maxed out?

Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-880 quad-core processor [3.06GHz, 1MB L2 + 8MB shared L3 cache]
    8GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [4 DIMMs]
    1TB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive from 750GB
2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 420 [DVI, HDMI, VGA adapter]

I don't own FSX yet, I still use FS2004 and want to run FS2004 maxed out.... Will FSX give good performance on this computer?

Is it okay to install both FS2004 and FSX on the same PC?

    Thanks,

you need to overclock CPUs to over 4GHz to get 'FS9-like performance'. you need to research is the HP will allow you to overclock the CPU.

this setup, after the usual tweeks, will run FS9 'more than fine'.

with tweeks and not all setting 'full right', yes.

    yes.

DO NOT install FS into the default win7 /program directory. create a custom directory. even better add a second HD, or create a partition on the 1TB drive, where only FS9 & X are installed. be sure UAC is OFF for the custom directory/HD/partition.

NASA might have a computer that will run FSX "maxed out", unfortunately most of us don't have the wallet for it.
The second issue you may run into with an off the shelf machine is not being able to overclock the CPU. Most shelf stock mfgs lock the BIOS so no overclocking is available.

FSX will run fine if you spend some time learning how to set it up and don't expect maxed sliders.

Yes, I have all of my sims in C:\Games.

I would not install FSX to the default "Program Files" folder. Win 7's User Account Control will give you headaches with permission issues...Don

see fxsttcb's post. a search on this forum, or a general yahoo/google will also give details.

UAC is a PITA when running FSX and FS9.
