Angry I got those stupid ground blurries again! WTF!

Can anybody help me on this? This only happens at night too in the sim. I got everything set to full except for AI traffic which is set to 80%. My computer specs are underneath.
I have both FS2004 and FSX but i play FS2004 when i want to do IFR/VFRs and i go on FSX for online flying.

It's probably the graphics card. You have a 4830 which is not necessarily outdated, but it has quite a bit of predecessors now. It's more than likely the graphics card trying to render all of the textures at once. I have the 5770 and it takes about 2 seconds to load. It is also trying to load Ultimate Terrain and Ground Environment Pro though, which before, it never had any blurry textures. Is this default textures your using?

I don't know about that, Nick. I got a 3650 256MB card, 3GB of RAM and a slightly slower CPU than the OP and I'm fine -- with all sliders (except visibility distance and mips) full right in the sim and with the card maxed out for quality. I always have my AI set to 100%. That's over 600 airlines and GA. Hundreds of addons too... I get a solid 25fps most of the time and no blurries.

I think that the OP's problem is something else. Bad texture somewhere? Too many processes going on in the background?

Arcueil mentioned "bad texture somewhere." I had the bad texture experience yesterday around KSAN. Textures were needle sharp, with all sliders to the right, then suddenly ground textures blurred badly--aircraft is sharp, only ground textures blur. I had just created a profile with nHancer and was testing the result in the San Diego area. Because of some other scenery issues I was trying to eliminate, I deleted an add-on Tijuana Airport file, and, to my great surprise and relief, the blurring problem disappeared. There must have been a bad texture in that file, as Arcueil has suggested. As for "Too many processes going on in the background," IOBit's Game Booster has helped me improve performance somewhat by shutting down unnecessary processes.

I have Blueprint simulation's scenry KMSP (Minneapolis St Paul Intl). I cant imagine a bad texture file for that. Its been years that i had the file and nothing happened til this year with POSKY aircraft. I am haveig the problem u described jack. I have already defragged my computer too. Maybe its the polygones in plane or the scenry.
PS: My school blocked flightsim.com and the form and the pilot shop so i wont reaspond til i get home tomoro (thats after 11pm CDT).

This somewhat complex thread might be of use, as it could serve to orient readers as to how to fix the OP's problem (assuming that the problem is indeed a texture issue): http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showth...nstall-amp-Fix)

Posts numbers 18-23 are the relevant ones.

In the OP's case, this does not mean that the problem must be with an airfield; it could be a texture on AI, a user aircraft or some other scenery addon.

Nick (OP), it is very important in order to see if the problem is indeed a texture that you remember which addons you have installed recently, and then selectively disable them one by one until you narrow down the problem to one addon. If you eventually figure out which addon is causing this, then the next step is to find which file(s) in the addon is (are) causing the problem.

OK, so you have already narrowed it down a bit -- it's probably not UT or GEP. What did you install before? You already said that it's at night, so I'm suspecting a bad AI or airfield texture, but I need to know if it's all over the world or only in a certain region and time. Please let us know.

For now, set your AI to 0% and see if the problem is still there. If it isn't, then the problem is probably AI and we've narrowed it down further.

OMG I remember my threads on this very issue! The only sound advise I have for you is one that you may not want to hear or face! That is unistall everything, unistall the sim you are using and getting the blurries on! Make sure you manually delete all folders left on your hard drive after uninstalling the sim. That includes using the control panel to remove any lingering scenery or aircraft files that may be hidden files.

Now comes the fun part reinstall the sim and one by one reinstall your aircrafts and reinstall your scenery in order to find the culprit that is causing the blurries! Like I said before I used to have this problem before and ever since I broke down and took the hit of performing exactly what I stated I am now running Blurry free !!! I found that some of the POSKY 777 have corrupt files in them that cause blurries and was discovered by activatiing different model POSKY 777's were I discovered blurries popping up using certain types. Scenery files can be the source of your problem as well that is why you install them one at a time to find out which one was corrupting your sim causing the blurries!

Have fun with that although it is a pain in the --- !!! You will atleast have a trouble free sim once again! Just be more conscious of what you install to your sim in the future! Another thing it aint just your ground textured that have blurry look at your clouds! They arent suppose to be blurry either!
