Default NO CD Patch for WindowsXP

Hi, just found out that the NO CD patch file for FS2000 is not working with Windows XP. Just wondering if this file is really not compatable or something that I did wrong during XP installation.

the no cd didn't work with win2000pro either - thats why I went back to win98 - it was a matter of priorities - a more reliable system.... or my flight sim cd-hassle free - Guess who won????

Windows XP's registry is the same as Windows 2K, wich is based on NT. Many cracks don't work on NT based OS. I assume you just want the patch because you don't want to have to switch CD when going from one game to another? JK ;-)

Maybe some enterprising person can figure out how to get into xp's registry but I doubt it.

there are patches that work with Win XP, you just have to find them. (I downloaded one and it seems to work ok. Try typing in a search engine 'fs2000' and 'no cd'. Thats how I found it. Hope that helps..

    Thats very interesting!
I did nothing special, and the no-cd crack worked fine for me - in both Win2000 and WinXP, with FS2000-Pro.

I've been running with 2000 and XP for the longest of times, and the no-cd crack always worked just fine for me.

Hmph! I wonder if I was just lucky?

That's good news. I read that XP has some boost in performance as far as game goes, that's why I want to try and see if its really true. If there is any glitch with XP for FS2000 then I will use either 98SE or ME just for fly simulation. I itching to try to have multiple boot of 98SE, ME, and XP on my machine just to compare the FS2000 framerate. I will definitely have XP for other applications beside fly sim since it has that soothing new look, I guess a change of scenery just doesn't hurt :).

    Happy flying
(and don't forget to peak at the framerate once in a while :))
