Question the new microsoft flight requirements

    hi,
this is a question for the "cant live without FS" fellas here.

do you think the new microsoft flight will require system specs not too far from what FSX requires ?
or we will have to get our selves brand new PCs with very high processor and GC power to make it run even to minimum settings ?

i cant wait untill its released !!!
    FSX ACCELERATION, ASUS P5QPL VM-INTEL E5400-2.7GHZ-DDR2RAM4GO-WINDOWSXPSP3 -GT220GEFORCE
if you never ask nothing, its because you know everything....

It will be a console game for everyone so you need an XBox. Remember, the took out the word "simulator". Lol! (Of course this is only a joke).
If you ask me, I'm not buying. I haven't even maximized FSX and I'm completely happy with the experience.
Just like we have people still loving FS9 / 2004.

What new features does it have aside from graphics anyway?

look at how blatantly they lied about "requirements" for fs10. the only way to get any facts about a microsoft product is from honest people who already risked money on it.

No - it will not run on an XBox. It is a PC game.

I would expect it to need current high level technology at the time of release to run well.

A lot of people were upset about FSX because of the poor performance on older systems built for FS2002. FSX will run well on the 'recommended' settings - just not at the highest graphics levels.

It is being developed exclusively for the PC,so will not be a "console port over game"!

I am sure it will be more mission based to add interest for another audience who want to do more than just fly A to B. in addition to the regular hard core simmers. With XP10 coming out, flightgear 2.0 and another as yet to be announced sim, I am sure Microsoft with all their clout will bring something out we will all be pleased with. What I really would like is an exclusive engine based purely on 64bit multi cores, well able to run and computate a very advanced engine over what we have Today. Time will tell! regards.

    Default Minimum System Reqs

How did MS lie about it? They told the truth with the minimum system requirements.

Minimum system requirements do not give you what kind of computer you need to run the game maxed out or on high settings. It's a technical term and states that as a very bare minimum, you must have the specified requirements just so that it can run it. Not necessarily to run with all sliders cranked up.

What you're talking of is probably the recommended system requirements. In the learning center somewhere, they've stated some recommended requirements. From my memory, these were good enough to be recommended at the time of FSX's release.

But still, I have to agree with the fact that it's better to put the recommended system requirements on the box than to put the minimum systems requirements .

From one of the videos I've seen, Flight may require a powerful CPU-GPU combination. I can't be too sure though.

    reggie:

1.why did you quote the first part of jomnis joke and leave out the end where he says hes joking?
2.why did you imply that only people with computers for fs8 have trouble with fs10?

did you really take notice of what you were reading and writing? you ususally seem far sharper and more on point.

    rohan:

come on, buddy. 1 gig cpu, 256 megs ram and a 32 meg video card??? thats not only a lie, its a really insulting lie. you ought to know that wouldnt even run fs9 worth a damn. look up andrew heards article about this. he not only goes into detail about just how insulting this is and why, he covers a lot of other relevant problems. find a system with those specs and install fsx. post a couple of screenshots with everything at minimums, and have your fps showing on screen. you will be forced to agree with me. it will both look and run - if you can even get it to - like the worst kind of garbage. im talking about a lie of omission. im talking about disingenuous corporate drivel to make a few extra sales at the cost of integrity and trustworthiness. im talking about an insanely foolish marketing ploy that backfired in several of the worst possible ways. i ask you to consider in that vein.

I'll give a cookie to the first FSX non-beta team poster who can tell everyone which department at MS is responsible for putting the system requirements on each and every boxed software sold by MS.
    Thanks,

    Jim
