I've flown several transcontinental flights and I never get handed over to local centers. (i.e. shannon center never hands me off to london center, not to mention that I don't get handed over to approach control on arrivals). On the contrary, when I fly a domestic flight (grand rapids to milwaukee), I get my hand held the whole way right down to the runway. all of these flights have been IFR. I wonder since my transcon flights happen when I am not in front of the computer and dont acknowledge every center along the way over the atlantic that it doesnt really follow my flight according to my filed plans. Has anyone else had an issue where they have not been handed off? Is there a fix or do we wait for a patch?
