    Default Replay problems

    Hi

I seem to be having a problem with the replay option. If I take a plane off and retract the gear and I run a replay of
the take off the gear does not extend before the replay.

Now I do not know if this occurs with all planes, but it seems to happens with the ones I have been using lately.

Is there a setting to delay the plane from setting on the ground until the gear is fully extended.

Some times the main gear extends and the nose wheel will be half way down and some times none of the gear is down.

    Thanks

Assuming you are speaking of the "instant Replay" function, please state exactly what you are doing.

i.e. are you sitting on the runway for a few moments to be sure the aircraft is sitting properly on it's gear before you start to taxi?

and then after you are airborne and want to watch a replay of all that, what value (seconds) are you type in? Try a very large value and the sim will tell you max value you can enter.

Let us know your exact procedure.

    Hi Dave

Well pick a plane with retractable gear and make a normal take off. Retract the gear. Make a slight turn left or right then pause and then select replay. Put a number in large enough to allow the plane to maneuver and taxi into position on the runway. Then run the replay. I switch to tower view at this point. This is where I find the gear is not completely extended.

I don't know if I had this issue all the time or it just started.

It's always been there. What you need to do, before you do replay, is to lower your gear (you might have to slow down). Then when you get put back to start, your gear is already down, so nothing happens. I do this all the time. On replay the gear will retract as in original takeoff. At end of replay the wheels will be extended as in original. Just hit 'G' and you're on your way. If you are making a video, then those 'out of sequence' parts can be edited out. Don't struggle-go with the flow.

If you forget to lower your gear try this 'undocumented' trick (my invention, as far as I know). Hit 'Y' key 2 times in succession then be ready to cut throttle (F1). The first will put you in 'slew' mode and the aircraft will be lifted to 'static height' and the gear will be automatically lowered. The 2nd press will 'drop' it on it's wheels. Then quickly do F1 so it don't fly off as when you come out of slew the throttle goes max (default behavior-no fix for that). That's life-some things you have to live with-what you see is what you get-you can't have everyting-'El Cid' and all that 'stuff'.
