Thread: Veneaviones Turbo Commander 690B

  1. Default Veneaviones Turbo Commander 690B

The Veneaviones Turbo Commander 690B is one of the most beautiful aircraft around, but seems religated only to Flight sim2004, or earlier.
Why can't someone come up with a 690b like the Veneaviones Turbo 690B that will work "VC and all" on FSX?

    I have the Rockwell-AC690-N1050P.zip from compilots.com.
The [fltsim.0] title line in the aircraft.cfg is; title=Veneaviones Turbo Commander 690B WL N1050P
The [fltsim.1] title line is; title=Veneaviones Turbo Commander 690B WL N1050P VC

If this is the same plane, only 3 gauges are from FS98 and won't work in FSX .
    They are rp733_alt.gau, 690_hghb.altalert.gau, and PST_hghb.altalert.gau
    I'm running FSX+Acc on win 7 32b.

Copy your FS9 Rockwell Turbo Commander 690-N1050P folder to Desktop.

Copy all the gauges from the original Rockwell-AC690-N1050P.zip gauges folder into both panel and panel.vc folders

    Replace rp733_alt in both panel.cfg files as follows;
    In notepad edit/replace
    Find what; rp733_alt
    Replace with: KingAir!altimeter
    Replace all.

Do this then, cut from desktop, paste into FSX airplanes folder.

The altimeter is not an exact fit but is very close and works.(When I fix the fit I'll post it)

I'm looking for a suitable replacement for hghb.altalert.gau(s) and will update. I've only flown it once, so I don't know if everything works as advertised...Don

There is the first class simulations commander 680 in the pole to pole package for FSX.

  4. Default 690 commander VC

I have the same plane, but there is no VC even though the readme says it does. There is nothing when you click VC from the cockpit tag. The 2d panal works fine..just no vc.

Are you talking about the first class simulations commander 680. There is a really nice VC with the pole to pole AC680. Actually a kinda very nice one, so I dont know what you talking about not having a VC. I will post you screenshots to prove it have a really nice VC. Better then some other payware aircraft I have bought..!

My folder and aircraft.cfg have 2 versions, 1 with, and 1 without, the VC.

So far the Rockwell-AC690-N1050P.zip from compilots.com 2D panel only really needed the Altimeter fix! The altitude alert lights are tiny and if they don't work, it's not that important. I will fix them with a new .xml gauge when I get around to writing the code.

I took a peek at the VC version and the Altimeter and altitude alert fix is the same as the 2D.
The Glass is messed up like most FS9 to FSX ports and the Alpha trick does not work, GRRRRRRRRR! I guess I'll just use the VC for blind IFRs!!!

It is still a nice plane, and it's Free...Don

I found a fix for the VC glass! There are still a few small/minor remnants of reflection in the upper cockpit windows, but, the windscreen and side glass are all OK.
It is in the Alpha Channel of texture/text_vc4.bmp, it is not the entire Alpha Channel bitmap, it is from the Y coordinate 382 and down...Don

That is a great little aircraft. Even the 2-D panel is really nice. I stumbled across it by accident because it had the Clemson Tigers texture and I used to live there and fly in and out of Oconee County Airport.
