I am now 3/4 done with my home, airport Eastern West Virginia Regional (KMRB), Martinsburg, WV. Although the airport is primarily civilian it is also home to the 167th Airlift Wing of the West Virginia Air National Guard. The 167th Airlift Wing currently has 8 C-5 Galaxies and 4 C130s based on campus. The airport is also occupied by the Tiger/Grumman manufacturer, Tiger Aircraft, which went belly-flop in 2007. Although the company's assets were sold in 2007, it still has its insignia displayed on hangars at the site. Another aircraft manufacturing company, Sino-Swearingean has also closed shop recently at the airport but still has facilities and assets yet to be sold. I was fortunate to have the blessings from Bill Walkup, Manager/Administrator of the airport to tour the airport compound and collect data, photos, etc to reproduce the airport in FSX.
Here are few preview shots .....and as usual criticisms most welcome.
