How do I get a flight plan file from a folder in "mydocs" to a place that i can 'load" it into my flight planner from inside FSX
AFAIK flightsimulator looks in C:\Documents and Settings\youruserprofile\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files
I was hoping you would say that, but here's my dilemma. I have copied that file and many others like it to that Flight sim folder within the mysocs folder. but unfortunately the plan does not show up in the flightsim folder and when i try to copy it again, it says its the file is already there but it does NOT show in the file list and when I open the "loads" from inside FSX it doesn't show, lol do you know if there is a limit to how many files the "mydocs>flightsimulator files" holds?
On my PC the folder is ...\My Documents\Flight Simulator X Files.
I'm not aware of any limits on the number of flight plans (.pln) you can have.
Where did your plan come from and is it in the correct format for FSX?
FSX generated plans begin with:
and end with:Code:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <SimBase.Document Type="AceXML" version="1,0"> <Descr>AceXML Document</Descr> <FlightPlan.FlightPlan>
I don't know how much of this is essential.Code:</FlightPlan.FlightPlan> </SimBase.Document>
Well when you think you have looked everywhere you havent. *laughs* I found it if you just click "load" its not there, BUTTTTTTTT if you go into "flight planner" and then click "load" it is there! fantastic. actually to answer your question these 'flight plans" are set up by a book i have called "Microsoft Flight Simulator for Pilots" so i think they are probably done right, i just could not get them to show, but i have them now. Thanks for your help!
From the Free Flight screen - Load will load a saved flight - a .FLT file
From the Flight Planner - Load will load a flight plan - a .PLN file
