    Default Program CH Fighterstick

Been flying FSX for quite a few years single engine, fixed gear, constant speed prop. Want to transition to retractable, variable speed prop etc. Maybe even Multi Engine.Tried CH quardrant and was overwhelmed. Plug and play was Ok but I had real problems with CH mgr. Sent it back to Amazon. Can I use the CH mgr with CH Fighterstick and be able to fly ME, with props mixture etc.Have programed basic flaps, gear, trim, lights into basic joystick functions. Haven't had much luck with AP functions. Have a real comfort zone with throttle wheel and buttons on CHFS.Read the multiple pages on using the CH Pro Mgr not sinking in. Can do it in the real world flying but not FS. Most likely an age block.Would appreciate any thoughts input how to get past the intimidation factor. Appreciate help.

    Hi,

Don't use CH Mgr. Make all your changes in FSX or even better yet, purchase FSUIPC4 and make all your changes there. You can even set up diffent control sets for different types of planes using FSUIPC4.
    Thanks,

    Jim

If you're not already aware, CH has dedicated forums that might help with your questions: http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/forum.php

Thanks Kendall. I have spent some time on the CH forum. Guess my problem is two fold. Being 75 and not real computer literate some of this comes hard. Just don't understand it. My wife and I can transition from real world flying for much of this but FSX and all the toys is much more than pushing buttons and flying patience and computer knowledge is so important. Seem to have a mental block about computer programming joysticks, add ons etc. The forum has helped a lot. Appreciate all the input.

Wow, wish i could be of more help but I don't use the CH Fighterstick, just the yoke/pedals with a Saitek throttle. Truth be told, I only use the CH MGR for calibration - I make all my assignments within FSX - nice and simple that way. FSUIPC will give you many more options and can be quite confusing too, at first, but Pete will stick with you on support until your good to go.

I agree, MSFS will "expand your horizons" regarding computer knowledge. You're never too young, ya know......

Where are you specifically having problems? Making assignments (or sometimes called mapping) or in calibration?
    Regards, Kendall
