Unhappy Oil Rigs AFCAD for AI Traffic

    Hi all.
Some time ago I modified some AFCAD files that came with some Aircraft Carriers, so to be suitable for AI Traffic, expecially helicopters. They all work fine.

I tried to do the same for three Oil Rigs in the Persian Gulf, but this time I had to create the "airport" from scratch.
I already did the same thing to create "helipads" in international airports, so to have a kind of helipad dedicated to helicopters only. They work fine as well, but thay are on-land.

The oil rigs platforms are giving me some problems: after all the "airport" creation, keeping the slewing aircraft at the correct height on the platform, measuring the altitude of the oil pad and put the settings in the AFCAD... my helicopters traffic lands in the correct location, but on sea level.

I can't find the way to let the airport be at 119ft instead of 0, even if in the AF2_*.bgl file the elevetion is correctly set.
PS: the platform pad is landable/hard surfaced. The oil rig is FS2004 default.

    Any idea?

This Tutorial works on buildings (roofs) but I have not tried it on oil platforms.

You might give it a try and report back please.

FS2004 AFCAD Tutorial. Using AFCAD to "harden" a surface - an illustrated tutorial. This tutorial describes, in step by step fashion, how to easily "harden" the surface of any building roof or a ship deck so it can be landed upon. No programming knowledge is required. Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the tutorial which is provided in .doc and .pdf formats. Compiled for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.

If you want, you can make a copy of your AF2 and change the extension to .txt.

This will allow you to post it here as an attachment, then one of us can take a look at it.

Note: if the file is larger than 20kb this will not work, but if a simple AF2 is that big I would be surprised.

    It does not work.
All the platform gets raised and the "airport" is still on sea level, that's raised too.

I didn't try to put just the runway to harden the surface, as I need a parking spot as well, with the apron route and parking connector.

I thought that only the taxiways had flatten properties, but I can see that the apron routes has the same feature.

It seems impossible to have AI Traffic to Oil Rigs.
The fact is that I installed different Aircraft Carriers and I added runways, apron routes and parking spots, and they work without any sea raising.

I got it. All the Carriers work because they have the Ocean Flatten feature AFCAD files in a higher priority layer.

I'll check those and then try the same thing with the Oil Rigs.

Why did they do FS so complicated?!

Please provide the coordinates for one or more of the rigs in question.

I would like to run some experiments.

These are the coordinates of the Oil Rigs:

    OMX1,N24* 30.50',E53* 42.15',116
    OMX2,N24* 50.00',E53* 36.01',116
    OMX3,N24* 53.75',E53* 42.77',116

Now they should work as I set the "Ocean Flatten" AFCADs in an upper level layer in the scenery config (as set for the Aircraft Carriers).

I attached the 6 AFCAD files in TXT format (to be changed in BGL).

The AF2_OF*.* are the flatten files to be put in an upper level layer in the scenery config (as set for the Aircraft Carriers).

The AF2_OMX*.* are the Oil Rigs AFCADs.
