Thread: FPS Hiccup

    Default FPS Hiccup

I remember reading about this somewhere, but I couldn't find where it was.

Before all this started happening I could run the simulator very impressively. Everything was as smooth as it could possibly be.
But recently my Flight Simulator has been acting very strange. I'm still getting the frame rates I was before, up to 30 in a crowded airport with normal autogen and normal scenery complexity and squawkbox 4 running. But it "hiccups". I would be moving smoothly and then it would be as if the simulator were pausing for a split second and then returning normal. This happens very frequently in a flight and its really getting on my nerves.

My CPU and System temp are good, around 55 when playing FS.

I have moderate graphics settings, normal autogen and scenery complexity, no default AI traffic( I use squawkbox and Vatsim and it shows the traffic).

I have my FPS locked at 27. I used to have it at unlimited but found it easier to maintain frame rates at a locked FPS. Having it at unlimited has no affect on my FPS hiccups.

    Thanks in advance

Try searching for the term "Pausing", and you should easily find a volume of data.

    Hello,

Maybe a useless advice (if you know it already) .. but be sure you don't have a scanning files softwares running in background .. like a Antivirus realtime scanner .. antimalwares .. etc ...

    Regards.
If you gave a couple of monkeys a box of ballpoints, enough paper, and enough time, they'd eventually finish up writing the complete works of Shakespeare

Noncon, a search turned up nothing.

Avechelice: No sir, no scans running in the background.
