    Default Addictive Pitts S1-T

Whilst I don't often post I love this site and have been a regular user for some years now. This is my no: 1 site for all matters fs!

You are usually so quick to pick up the very best out their yet nothing about the Addictive Pitts except an announcement, and that seemed to disappear rather quickly?!

Why no review? Elsewhere people are raving about it , no one here on my favorite site seem to have noticed ... or have I got it wrong?

Guys and Girls this is in my opinion possibly the best add on aircraft I have ever parked in my hanger!

I was lucky enough to own a part share in one some years ago and I am truly amazed at the level of accuracy these people have managed to re-create!

I can only talk for the FSX version (which it was created for) but I gather the FS9 version is as good.

I do have a question for them though... how do they produce such an accurate piece of kit whilst keeping it so frame rate happy?

    Anyone from Addictive out there?

I am not sure If I have posted this in the right Forum if not I apologise meanwhile here are a couple of links, one to their site and one to an amazing review I read!!

Cheers and keep up the good work FlightSim.com!!

    Default Addictive Pitts

Trust me, it is ... I pretty much concur with what was said in the review I found. It's the most realistic sim I have ever come across, as an ex pilot of a real one

I can't get the knife edge right though ... something I could do in the real Pitts, then again it was a while ago!

It's a shame I can't feel the 'G' with the Addictive Pitts.... maybe then I would get it right

    I can't understand why fs.com haven't done a review though. It's not often I buy an ad-on without one from them ..... I don't regret it though!

Best and most realistic plane I have in my hanger! Have you bought it yet, it is amazing value frankly?!

It would be great to exchange views about it!

    Cheers

Addictive's Pitts, is certainly addictive, believe me! It kept me from my bed until 3.0am only to be grounded by my wife's demand for me to come to bed or else?

    Default Knife Edge

A 'real' pilot and you can't get a knife edge in Sim? No way! (Just kidding). In Sim there is the 'auto co-ordination', or 'auto rudder' that you have to contend with when you want to do aerobatics, or a knive edge (one you can 'hold' forever). I fly a Pitts 2B and it 'rocks'. Want to try my FDE's? Here is a link to the cfg and air file at MediaFire hosting site. Might not be as good? Find out. MediaFire, 'pitts_s2b_fde.zip', May12, 2010. New FDEs for Pitts S-2b for FSX (and FS9). Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?gyinim1wom2 . Have fun. Oh, the a/c is 'TF-TOY' Pitts S-2b version 1.0, paint by David Skulason and the model is by Yasuhiro Ishii ('..this plane works for Flight Simulator 2004'). (Works 'ok' in FSX, too-cb). The sound I use is sound for North American T-6F Texan USAF, by Presley (06Feb13) and is deep and robust.

That feature (auto rudder) works well with 747's, but not with GA or aerobatic a/c. Un-Check that and NOW try it. Should work. If not, then it will the interaction still being there due air file entry (which is set for C172/747's) of 'rudder_effect_on_roll' (section 1101, FlightDynamics). It's probably set to '=-218' or '=-410' or simular. Change it to '=4200' (yes positive value) and that should do it. (If not, then try my N&I FREE FDE's? (I don't need 'pay' or 'recognition' as I know they work good- which is reward enough for me). Cheers.

    Hmmm, anorak or pilot?

Please talk in terms of 'pilot' rather than computer techno!

I didn't follow very much of that, real pilots tend not to be too good in that area ... too much of it in flight school which in my case was a long time ago!

I am gettin there ... I got 2 out of three right today!

So, I can do the knife edge now .... actually it makes me want to try again in the real thing!

Sadly, my plane is dead along with one of the other owners!

Yes, but ... you a former co-owner and having flown the real thing (once upon a time), shouldn't you be writing a review for flightsim.com? All you have to do is contact the webmaster webmaster@flightsim.com. Looking forward to your review soon

    Default Judge For Yourself

    nicksnook,
Quote: 'Hmmm, anorak or pilot? Please talk in terms of 'pilot' rather than computer techno!'

Well, a trainspotter (or off shore radio enthusiast) I am not. I am a 70 yr old who is now retired and this is my hobby. It's addictive alright. I also fly helicopters. I can hold a knife edge. I drive vehicles in sim (my REAL passion). I had some raw footage of me flying the PITTS S-2B in FS9 and the Extra 300 in FSX so I posted a video at YouTube (so you can judge if I am a 'pilot'-since you are the 'cat's pajamas' due to being a 'real' pilot before-before jet fuel? (hehe)). Here is link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NqyhYZshyQ .

I don't 'buy' my aircraft, I tweak them. The process involved is obviously way over your comprehension level an/or technical skill, so I will not bother you with any of that 'techno' mumbo-jumbo. At least I am not the one that's 'confused'.
