Default converting default objects to flyable

I was wondering if there is a way to convert static scenery objects to a flyable model. I have recently looked through some of the static files, but i cannot find any models that can be used for flyable models. as far as i can tell, they are all in .BGL format. Any help would be appreciated.

That is just not possible. Static aircraft do make use of a model, but it a totally different type of model than what flyable aircraft use.

Not sure why you would want to do that anyway since there are literally thousands of flyable aircraft available.

In addition, they are very very low quality and some are no more that 'carboard cut out' that look a bit rough even in the distance.

But as opaplano says......it not possible

Thanks for your input on this, i was inspired by the FSX Ekranoplan that was converted to flyable, and i remembered that around edwards there were sr-71s and b-52s and i was interested in doing something similar with them, but they are static scenery objects, not AI aircraft.

Why not just download a freeware B52 or SR-71 from the file libraries? I know for a fact they exist for FSX, as I have downloads of both aircraft - the Alphasim SR-71 is very good.

I have downloaded them, but i was just thinking that a simple, yet crisp model with limited animations would have little effect on frames, and its an ok base model from microsoft with virtually limitless potential.

Not to mention the multiple UFOs, and space shuttle, etc.

Err.. From what I remember of the models, they don't have any animations( in fact, they can't), the texture sheets are blurry and the model is certainly not crisp.

In any case, you can't use it as a base model, as you can't modify complied mdl files.

It would be very easy to make them again in gmax if you really wanted - especially the UFO, which is nothing more than a few spheres and torus shapes. The shuttle, likewise, is available as freeware with a much better model.

I really don't understand why you'd want to do this.
