Thread: After Landing, Aircraft Disappear

Hybrid View

  1. Default After Landing, Aircraft Disappear

    KDYS Dyess AFB Texas
There are 88 Parking spots, 38 for B-1 Aircraft at 25 meters, 40 for C-130 Aircraft, at 22 meters, and 10 for KC-135 Aircraft, at 24 meters. Aircraft editor is set to each aircraft, B-1 28m, C-130 22m, add KC-135 at 24m.

Using flightplans made for the test of the aircraft, each aircraft leaves the parking spot, taxis to the end of the end of the runway, and takes off.

15 or so minutes after takeoff they appear on the horizon, approach, and land, slow down to taxi speed, then “poof” they disappear.

The center line of the runway is connected to all vertical taxiways, which are connected to the parallel taxiway which is connected to all parking spot taxi lines.

I have redone the taxiways, with no luck.

When I place the aircraft to watch everything happen, and request taxi to parking, I’m told to taxi to general aviation parking. I get no “Turn Progressive Taxi line” which indicates no contact with main parking ramp. Which begs the question “How did the test aircraft go to the end of the runway and takeoff?” When I do it at another airport I get “Turn Progressive Taxi line”

As I understand it, Progressive Taxi will only work if the various taxi links are "identified". If you are using AFCAD, there is a drop down box at the top right of the dialogue which allows you to name segments which you have "selected" (highlighted). I believe the process is fully described in the Help section.

Re: dissapearing...... Did you run the fault finder to check specifically for unconnected nodes? And are there "hold short" nodes at each of the taxiways which connect tio the runway and are they close enough to the ceneter line of the runway?

Just a couple of thoughts which I hope will be helpful.

Ran Fault finder, everything is normal? All nodes are connected. When I use the aircraft for vision on the center line of the runway, I get no Progressive Taxi line.
If I place the aitcraft on the line between the runway center line, and the hold short node, I get a progressive taxi line. Something wrong somewhere.

You have my e-mail address - I would be happy to take a look at the afcad - sometimes two sets of eyes are better than one.

Reinstalled a backup Afcad from backup FS9 file. Now everything is working the way it should.
All aircraft tested did what they were supposed to.
Thanks for the offer, will keep it in mind, when this goes bad again.
