When I am in the cockpit and press ctrl+Q nothing happens. Same with ctrl+shift-Q.( I do hold these buttons down)
How can I correct that to work correctly. I have looked in search for an answer but
find nothing about this problem. Any ideas?

It's ctrl+shift+backspace or ctrl+shift+enter![]()
Thanks for the reply but I thought that was for FS9. I have reinstalled FSX and when I had the previous install it was ctrl+Q or cntrl+shift+Q
Dusty,
The VC does use the same keys as FS9
SHIFT+BS, SHIFT+ENTER for up/down
CTRL+SHIFT+BS, CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER is for left/right
The 2D cockpit uses CTRL+Q/SHIFT+CTRL+Q to TILT the view (giving the appearance of raising and lowering the seat/viewpoint.) - you are correct
Since the view doesn't seem to move for you any more, you might try just pressing the "Reset Defaults" button and see if that restores the missing functions.
As an alternative before resetting, (IF YOU HAVE MANY CUSTOM ASSIGNMENTS) look at the assignments and make sure
View (always pan down) = CTRL+Q
View (always pan up) = CTRL+SHIFT+Q
(they may not be assigned any longer...)

For a permanent solution, I edit my panel cfg files with the following (though 4.8 might be just a little too much for some):
Add or Edit this entry in the panel.cfg file:
VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=4.800, 0.000, 0.000 // Pitch, Bank, Heading4.800 will adjust the angle down 4.8% which is roughly equivalent to 3 x Ctrl-Q

Y'all forgot Ctrl+Space to "Center" the view after you've moved it around!
The .cfg tweak is looks like a neat thing to use Ian! I've got a couple of planes that NEED it! Where in the panel.cfg should I put it? Before [Window Titles], down around/in [Default View], anywhere?...Don
My entry is in the section
[views]
Can't remember whether I created this section or whether it was inthe cfg by default.
You can experiment with the first number to see what is best for you.

TA-DA!! It didn't have one, so I just created the entry in the panel.cfg and tweaked a tad. Works like a champThanks Ian...Don
Code:[views] VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=4.000, 0.000, 0.000 // Pitch, Bank, Heading
Thanks for all the answers. I would have replied sooner but have been out of town
for a long 4th weekend. I will apply what you all suggest. I do have a program called
EZdok camera for loking around the aircraft. In their instructions it says to delete all
assignments that have pan in them. I did that and it might be the source of the
problem. Thanks again
Dave
These are the default FSX VC eyepoint keys, they work for moi.
Make sure your Numlock key is off.
CTRL/ENTER= Back
CTRL/BACKSPACE= Forward
SHIFT/ENTER=Up
SHIFT/BACKSPACE= Down
CTRL/SHIFT/BACKSPACE= Left
CTRL/SHIFT/ENTER= Right
CTRL/SPACE= Reset
PS- the view is fully pannable (I use hatswitch) no matter where your eyeballs are.
