Thread: simulation rate

    Default simulation rate

Hi there, my first post here)I have CFS 1 and 2, and had all FS starting from 98 to the last FSX. All of them have option **simulation rate**- when you can slow down the game to half speed or slower, or speed it up 16 times or more..Last week I`ve bought CSF3 -it was on special for 10 dollars, so I thought-why not...And after installing and playing it for some time, I`ve found out there is no this option available in CF3.Maybe I`m missing something and just can`t find it?
If it`s not available, which latest combat flight simulation game have similar thing?Wings of Prey?Or something else?I`m not a fantastic fighter pilot, and slowing down the game to half speed would be a great option for learning))
    Thanks)

You are totally right! I have FSX and Combat Flight Simulator 2...

And, Combat Flight Simulator 3? There is no option to adjust the simulater rate...unless their is something I don't know about?

FSX and CFS2... allow you to use the "alt" button to adjust simulation rate! You get the menu on the top bar and adjust the simulation rate. Yet, I just tried out my CFS3...and you right! There is no simulation rate! You can use this feature to slow everything down! But, I just saw your post and, since I have CFS2 and CSF3... and FSX to boot... I just noticed there is no simulation rate on CFS3.

    Pity!

Why FCS3 has no simulation rate? I don't understand? I guess it's because I create myself invincible and make the flying settings easy and just kill anything in site... it's a great feeling!

One thing I like about CFS3 is that you have an automatic radar thingy! You know what to hit! Who needs the directional garbage from CFS2? It's more fun!

After a stressful day, let's put on CFS3 and destroy everything on the radar! If I hit it... good... I destroyed it! If I crash into it and bounce back up... that's better! If I blow up my own airport? That's cool too!

    Sometimes unrealistic settings are fantastic...

Have you ever tried a helicopter in FSX? It's like... yikes! It took me a long time to find out the "low_realism_stability_scalar" in the [helicopter] aircraft.cfg file could be changed to something much more fun. Who wants the number to be "1.0, 1.0, 1.0" when you can change it top "1.0, 1.0, 10.0?" Now you are talking! The helo flies so straight... it's great. Now, you can be a "coast guard" operator on a tiny Robinson (private, of course) and just watch the Mississippi River go by as you watch for "pretend" rescuers for help... See?

I think this whole site is geared toward the most "realistic" flights imaginable. But, sometimes it's just nice to make it so easy that it's unthinkable! But, not to me? Who wants realism when you can take a helo and scan the Miss. River... and just watch the scenery go by?

That's me! A nice little ride in an aircraft, so you can just watch the scenery and be relaxed!

In CFS3 you can "Warp" by keying "X" and delete with "Shift X", but you are confined to move towards the next waypoint. Better than nothing!

    !
I presume its because its a combat simulator, and not a flight simulator. Why would you want to speed it up, are you planning on a long haul battle to Australia? lol
