    Default Rex 2.0

Just bought REX 2.0, but I don't understand the order in which you start things up and how the flight is set up. Do I just open fsx, minimize it, start up rex and wait for the flight to start automatically after I've planned it. I have no idea on how to start the flight. Please help.

Have you tried reading the very nice PDF manual that came with the product on how to install and use the settings? Their forum is back up and running now and you get excellent help there.

Bob is correct. You should read the manual and check the REX forum. But, short of that, REX should pop up during booting of FSX and automatically connect to FSX. You should minimize the program..it will rest in your system tray.

Btw, I never use it for flight planning. That is not really its strongest suit...

thanks. how do I get the weather in without planning a flight? Do I load the flight on FSX first and then load the REX textures or do I load REX textures whilst on the main menu in fsx then begin the flight?

as was first stated...read the manual. When installed correctly, REX will automatically find your FSX installation. It will override the onboard FSX Real WX engine and use its own, which I believe is derived from NOAA sources. But, to repeat, read the manual for full information and setup...
But, to answer your question in short, if you made a successful install of REX you will get an option screen to set up your choices in terms of sky, cloud, water, etc textures. <ake your choices as you see fit. There are a nearly infinite variety of combinations, texture resolutions, etc. Once you have made your selections, texture installation will take place. It takes several minutes. Then you can shut down REX or simply start FSX. You do not have to choose textures, etc each time you boot up. once done, it's done, until you want to try another look or style of textures, etc.

When you start FSX, REX will automatically boot up, too. At some point you will see the REX screen during the FSX bootup. Select minimize, and REX will b place in your tool bar tray. You can simply ignore it from there. it will upgrade wx conditions as you fly.

Default Be sure to minimize REX

All these answers are good. Once loaded and set up, you will see a startup screen when you open FSX, click to load then click to minimize and you can set up your flight immediately. As the flight progresses, REX is redrawing the weather so you'll see a popup notice at times, it will go away.

    Good flights, Cal

    Hi All,

Please keep in mind that if you are wanting the load any textures, you must do this before FS is started. Once FS is started there is only one texture that can be updated and that is the cirrus texture. This is true of FS9 and FSX.

    Thanks,
    Thanks,
