Some weird things going on with the medals

Ok, so I have a question.

I used to play cfs3 a lot and got loads of medals. I used to get every medal once, and then lots of distinguised flying crosses.

I havent played cfs3 in a long time and now i'm starting again. But something changed with the medals. I'm getting all the medals and then just legion of merits all the frigging time. (i hate this medal)
What's going on here? I tried playing in different modes (easy, normal, hard) and its not making any difference.
Game is fully patched up and everything.

Any thoughts?

I think this is because medals are given based on a set crteria rather that for vallor eg: ace award (Letter of comedation,mention in dispatches,something else, if forgot, dep. on your faction) is given to you after you destroy five aircraft in the air or on the ground (which i think is not thire due to the fact grounds' dont fight dack) and never again the othe medal have similar ciretir i think your given on of some king after getting so many total kills the get extra ones of this metal for more kills and the wond badge for getting shot. so some cant be gotten more that once and some you can get more of though at diffrent rates based on your style of fighting/ relisim setting (unlimited ammo/weps. and my style of boming anything i find gets me tones of medals in just one capmin month.)
