another repaint request. this one has some deep meaning to it. I also am a military buff, and I deeply admire the men and women who fight for our freedom, past and present. recently about a month or two ago, the United States Air Force activated the 44th Fighter Group. the lineage is traced back to WWII as the 44th Bombardment group in the United States Army Air Corps. They only flew B-24 liberators, and are best known as The Flying Eightballs. and are also best known for taking part in the low altitude Ploesti Bombing Raid in 1943. My great Uncle was an engineer/top turret gunner aboard the B-24J Liberator "Southern Comfort III."
The 44th Fighter Group is based at Holloman AFB in Alamogordo, NM. and they will operate 2 squadrons of F-22 Raptors and 2 Squadrons of Predator UCAVs. one Raptor squadron will bear the same squadron number as the Tuskeegee Airmen. there are several raptors out with the livery painted on their tails. and as I understand, the only difference between any raptors is the paint on their vertical stabilizers.
and this is the emblem on the vertical stabilizers. it's not colored, it's all gray http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ACC_Shield.svg
