Thread: Adding ProFlight98 FMC Panel to a plane

  1. Default Adding ProFlight98 FMC Panel to a plane

In revisiting FS98 I was stunned to discover that Proflight 98 came with a Learjet 35A with an apparently fully, or nearly fully functioning FMC panel (I was probably aware of it when I got ProFlight98 but just forgot about it over the years)!

A third party panel by Eric Ernst (which I picked up from FlightSim.com's file library) and modified by Sean Green, also has the Proflight98 FMC panel.

How does one add the Proflight FMC panel to an aircraft? I'd ask Sean Green directly, but he didn't include his email address in his readmefirst.txt file (chances are it probably wouldn't still be current anyway).

Incidentially, is there a way to update the database for the Proflight98 FMC panel?

AH...Proflight 98...I was a beta tester for that product and got a free copy after the beta. I had big beefs with the developers with the FMC because it I remember right, if you were in spot plane view while passing a waypoint, it would miss it. It only worked while you were in cockpit view. I don't remember if they fixed it or not before it was released. Wow, brings back memories.

I'll have to remember that little quirk if I ever actually try to use the Proflight 98 FMC (G)!

Incidentally, I loved the flight plan form used in Proflight 98. I wish the heck Microsoft had bought the rights to Proflight 98 or FS Navigator and incorporated either one into FS200x instead of the pile of garbage they used instead!

    Hello Scott:

As I am pretty sure you probably already know, PF98 which became PF2000 is still around combined today with ProFlight Emulator. It works great IMHO with both FS9 and FSX. I use GameCommander for voice recognition and voice communication. I am sure there are probably other programs for this interface as well. I wouldn't be without it. Combined with the ISG FMC which can be installed in just about any bird, sure makes a combination worth while in my book.

    For what it is worth:
