Default Looking For: FSX DEFAULT repaints on POSKY 777s

A while ago, I found the World Travel colors from the default FSX aircraft painted on a POSKY 777-200 GE model, and fell in love with it. So, here is my request:

Initially, I would like to see a Pacifica Airlines (The brown texture from FSX) repaint of a POSKY 777-300ER; preferablly any one of the GE90 series engines. (I don't think the PW and RR/Trent variants look powerful enough for such a big airplane. GE is my favorite. )

Lets just start with that, but eventually, I want a collection of the POSKY 777-200s and 777-300s with these textures on them:

    1) World Travel (As it appears in the 737 on FSX)
    2) World Travel BLUE (As it appears on the A321 and 747 in FSX)
    3) Pacifica (as it appears on the 737 in FSX)
    4) Orbit (As it appears on the 737)

I would like to see these on GE engine variants; but any engines will do, I guess. I have tried painting these myself, and World Travel is the only one that is remotely easy for me. (The purple version with the orange stripe. All those straight lines are pretty easy to draw. )

I think it would be really cool overall just to have the default textures available on aircraft as good as the POSKY 777. So, please, help me out!!!

    ***UPDATE***

I have tried painting on the POSKY 777-300 before; but the textures are still fuzzy even with mips off. I don't know if its just my software or what; but I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem.

Im guessing that the paint does not look "fuzzy" in your editor .
Out of Interest what editor are you using ??
And also what format are you saving the textures ??.

Seems to me you have done the hard bit ,by painting the aircraft , It may be that you just need a little help in the final stages of converting and saving your textures

I am using DXTbmp and Paint.NET; Paint.NET is the editor.

I have had this problem before on other airplanes; someone told me that, in order to get a clearer final result, I would need to "Turn off 'Save with mipmaps' in DXTbmp."

So, I did that. And there it was; crystal clear instead of being fuzzy at certain angles. I have tried that with the POSKY 777-300, but it doesn't seem to work. I will include a picture in this post. Take a look at it for me and hopefully you'll see what I mean.

Plus, I can't seem to get the engine textures to match; or its some kind of related error. Just look at that picture; the problem with the engines is pretty obvious. I think I have the right textures figured out, but the engines keep looking like that.

Thanks for being the first one to reply!!!

    Hi

Just a couple of questions to get the ball rolling
What format are you saving as ?
What colour is the alpha layer on your engines?
Why is the rest of the fuselage black??
Is this because you have only added part of your painted texture for test purposes , or is this another problem you are having ??

The comment about unticking the mips in DXT is the most common fix for the blurring of the textures, and as you have noticed it usually works .

I am guessing that you saved this with mips unchecked , but the problem is still there
Just confirm that you did save without mips then we can press on.

I know that sounds obvious , but it is very easy to miss the obvious sometimes , been guilty of it myself , so please don't think I am being condesending.
Best to confirm what has been done so that we can figure out what needs to be done

Please, don't be hesitant; you are EXACTLY who I needed!!!

YES! I absolutely did save it with mips OFF to try and clear up the texture.

YES! The airplane is black simply because I have not used any other parts of the fuselage yet. Hoepfully I can extend this project soon!

The engines are not intentionally put into an alpha layer; I'm not even sure I know what that is. (I think its used for windows and transparent things, but the engines just look metalic; not reflective.)

I have other white/blank POSKY 777s I am trying to use as test/project aircraft; but there is at least one problem with each of the aircraft variants I have tried. (Thats why I posted this originally: I was having difficulty on at least 1 area for each airplane, and I figured it would be easier to get in touch with someone who has some kind of knowledge regarding the POSKY 777s.)

EXAMPLES OF MY FRUSTRATION: (these are not exact; one error might apply to a GE90 variant instead of a PW or RR series plane; etc etc. You get the idea.)
The wings on the GE 777-200LR Test Plane are black like the fuselage of the 777-300 in my picture I showed you previously; the engines on the 777-200 RR/Trent Test Model are blacked out but the rest of the plane is fine; etc etc.)

I really haven't a clue regarding these engines... I have updated this post with all of my test POSKY 777 models that I am using; you can take a look at those.

I really appreciate your abvious concern and thank you graciously for helping me in whatever way you can!!! I love the POSKY 777s and I can't wait to get some of them in default FSX colors; I think they'll look fantastic. Thanks for your help so far!

    Hi
Sorry for the late reply .
Well let me start out by saying I don't use Posky aircraft , and I certainly have never tried porting one in to FSX.

Regarding the engines , well the first thing you need to do is open them with DXTBmp , then in the top right window the alpha layer will display .
Now looking at your screenies I am going to guess that the alpha colour is black .
If it is you need to change it to a light grey and then see if the problem persists , remember this is only a guess
In your other screen shots you seem to missing textures completly , this could be a texture format issue or a naming issue if these textures are indeed in the required folders.

As to your blurring issue , well I have to confess it has got the better of me

You have confirmed that you are not using mips and the texture is sharp when in your editor .
There is something wrong of that there is no doubt , I would suggest you pay a visit to the Projectopensky forums and see if there is any help to be had there .

If you do decide to post there make sure you have read all the faq's as they seem to like nothing better than tearing you a "new one " if your question has been answered before

Oh, I know exactly what you mean by your last sentence.

Well; I believe you're right about the wing textures that are missing: They just don't belong to that particular aircraft, but I think I know how to fix that.

Thanks for your help... I wish this had just worked in the first place, but, oh well. I can always ask one of the POSKY members to give it a shot if they want to, or someone else, maybe.

    Thanks again for your help!
