    Default FSX operations

Have been using fsx for sometime and have not had the following problem for which I can use some info on solution.
While using the program and flying suddenly the mouse cursor changed from usual mouse symbol (arrow) into (+) and at same time I lost some of the use's the mouse allows. I have no idea what I did to cause the change or what I need to do to get the mouse back to being the pointer (arrow) with operations use. Help needed. I read the learning on mouse and found nothing, Thanks

You might have accidentally went into "mouse as yoke" function.

To turn it off again, right click the screen, and select the same option again. It will go back to your yoke or joystick...

or it might be in mouse view mode which is activated by the space bar

    Default Mouse 'View'?

Mouse view (so called) is not a 'cursor thing', but a way to move (view) around the aircraft (by using the mouse). The cursor might 'change' to let you know it's is not in 'normal' configuration (ie: you can't click gauge when it's in this 'state').

I use it to set the elevation of the view (from behind aircraft) in Locked Spot View.

You press and HOLD the spacebar while moving the mouse (up, down, to side, up, etc).

Just pressing the spacebar will not change the cursor permanently, which is the OP's (un-explained and mysterious) problem. Do I know the answer? No. But I know that just pressing the spacebar did not do it. There's more to it than that.

    Ragtopjohnny's post is correct -

That is what changes the cursur to a + sign instead of the arrow. It is "permament" until you uncheck the option again.

I had not experimented with that "feature" before - rather cool to see it advance or retire the throttle(s) that way.
