    Default gate help

Hi all, My local airport is Birmingham UK and my favorite airline to fly is Ryanair. Ryanair use Terminal 2 in real life stands 1 to 3 and stand 15. Everytime i try to land it tells me to go to gate 55 or 56. My aircraft CFG has Gate and Ramp and gate code RYR. Help so i can go to gate 1,2,3 or 15 all the time please.

  2. Default Gate Help

According to Swarby's AFCAD V2.1 manual ( for building the AFCAD terminal files ) although you can designate Gate, Ramp etc in the aircraft.cfg file, you can't specifically give it a gate number

I found this out when I discovered all about altering the aircraft.cfg file in the first place while bug fixing my first new airport.

The gate and parking codes are for AI use only - but you can set up a dedicated parking spot or spot(s) using the following tutorial:

FS2004 Creating VIP Parking for Commercial Airliners - an Illustrated Guide. After landing a commercial airliner, are you frustrated by ATC directing you to a gate which is nowhere near a logical spot? This guide shows how to create a reserved parking gate at any airport and have ATC direct you properly to that gate. This concept will work for a specific aircraft of your choice. The technique is based upon investigations and information developed by Jim Vile and Reggie Fields. Tested in FS2004 only. Compiled in .doc and PDF formats for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.

    Hope that helps.
