downloaded aircraft disappearing after use

I'm new to FSX, have recently downloaded a number of aircraft from this website. I flew (the ones that worked) however since i've come back to the programme, the aircraft have disappeared from the drop-down menu in the game

how do I get them back?? The files are still in the correct directory: c:/program files/.....FSX/simobjects/airplanes

Is Show all variations checked for your planes? That could be preventing it from happening

Well, I'm not new to FSX and I find that by me using the mouse wheel (try) to 'scroll' will mess things up (urgg-hate when that happens-and I keep DOING it-hehe). So just in case you might be doing that. After 3 years I still learn something new EVERY DAY. You will too.

So what John means is to check to see if 'Show All Vairations' is checked at the bottom of the drop-down menu. But even if it is checked the mouse thumb wheel will still mess the listing by changing the 'default' layout view. Simply 'scroll' back and it will reset.
