Thread: Audio Environment problem

  1. Default Audio Environment problem

    Since I'm not getting any help at the Turbine Sound Studios web site, I thought I'd see if anyone here might have an answer. After I installed Audio Environment (which, by the way, is a very fine product) I noticed that the sounds associated with toggling the no smoking and seat belt signs were not working. I'm using FSX Acceleration. Thanks in advance for the help.

    Very interesting.............

    None of my aircraft "belt/smoking" sounds work either

    I have even installed the sounds and gauges from other panels - still no joy

    Ken.
    [EDIT] Forgot to say I do NOT have the TSS package - just running the default FSX sound material.

    if a sound wont play it might due to a corrupt sound file if it wont play in any aircraft that uses it.

    If you go into you main fsx folder and then in to the sound folder you are looking for a file called CabinAlert.wav. This is the default seat belt and no smoking sound you hear when you flick the switch.

    I can say it does work on mine and as long as the entry is in the sound.cfg for the aircraft.

    here is what it looks like in the default airbus

    [NO_SMOKING_ALERT]
    filename=CabinAlert

    [SEATBELTS_ALERT]
    filename=CabinAlert

    There is another possibility of why it wont work ( this i would class as an extreme rare event ). you have run out of sound channels that your sound card can use so it might be worth looking for newer drivers and never use the ones that come from windows update.

    I have a creative xfi extreme music btw.

    Hi,
    I have the entries in the sound.cfg folders and the relevant CabinAlert.wav file..................

    Still no sounds

    This the ONLY sound anomaly that I have.

    I use only the on-board sound "AC97" or something like that.

    All other sounds (music etc) come over well.

    Very strange...........
