Thread: Problem P47

    Default Problem P47

    I can't find an AI P47 but I found p47raz.zip here.
    I can fly it but can't get it show/fly as AI.

    My aircraft entry has : AC#17,250,"P-47D-22-RE "Malcolm Hood" "
    The flight pan has : AC#17,P47D22RE,5%,24HR,VFR,09:55,10:11,029,R,0000,SPH1,16:00,16:16,030,R,0000,EGDN
    Airport entries are : SPH1,N51* 12.1929',W1* 56.4793',425.5 & EGDN,N51* 14.8300',W1* 45.2500',455.0

    Aircraft cfg :
    [fltsim.1]
    title = P-47D-22-RE "Malcolm Hood"
    sim = P-47D22
    model = M
    panel =
    sound =
    texture =
    kb_checklists = CheckList_P-47D
    kb_reference=
    atc_id=P47D22RE
    ui_manufacturer=Republic
    ui_type=Thunderbolt
    ui_variation=P-47 Malcolm.
    atc_airline=US Air Force
    atc_flight_number=
    visual_damage=1
    description=P-47D-22-RE Malcolm. Unit: 511th FS, 405th FG, 9th AF, USAAF
    Serial: K4-S (42-26261)
    Zima, Italy, winter 1944-45. Pilot - Walter A. Grabowski (American pilot with Polish parentage).

    I have generated a flightplan with no error messages & all others on the list fly but not the P47.
    If anyone knows of a WW2 camo P47 instead of my trying to use this perhaps you'd tell me.
    I have a couple of other non-AI flying without problems by the way......
    Thanks.
    Are you sure a couple of monkeys wrote all that Aaron Copland?

    I just downloaded and installed this aircraft and made up a simple out and back flightplan with an hourly repeat from my local airport and it works fine for me. I did make one change which you might try.

    On the title= line line I removed the quotation marks around Malcom Hood.

    This makes my AC entry read as follows:

    AC#1,250,"P-47D-22-RE Malcolm Hood"

    Possibly the double quotation marks confuse the AI engine.

    I also notice that you have a 24 hour repeat - are you there are the correct time? Times are written as GMT, not local time.

    Hope that helps.

    I just did another test - this time with the quotation marks in place - (restored them in the title= line and change the AC text as follows:

    AC#1,250,"P-47D-22-RE "Malcolm Hood""

    Worked just fine that way also.

    In taking a real close look at your original post, there does seem to be a space between the last two quotation marks in your AC listing. Not sure if that is a problem but might be worth checking.

    EDIT ADDED: I just checked it and if a space is indeed there, the aircraft will not display.

    One last thought: The P-47 requires a minimum of an 8 meter parking space radius - be sure some are available at any airport it to fly to and from.

    Thanks Dave - that might have been it...I removed the double "" for "& bingo - there it was.
    They flew from my Ibsley Airfield so now I can get snapping!

    All the best,
    Terry.
