American Airlines MD-82

Is there a really good American Airlines MD-82 for FSX that is freeware? No offense to the author, but the repaint for the default FSX MD-80 isn't quite as realistic as I am hoping for..

It's listed in the Airplanes folder. Perhaps its an AI aircraft?

yes its an ai aircraft but I have found that a) there are several addons to make it flyable, and b) its not very different from the FS9 MD80. I have found an FSX update of the SGA MD-80 and just put FS9 American Airlines textures on it but, where can I find jetway codes for it? I put in the default ai MD-80's codes and the jetway doesnt move an inch..

Yes there is a good one made by Eric Cantu and his gang at SGA. It was made for FS9 but it works very well on FSX. I believe the file name is SGAMD80.zip. It comes with an American and Alaska textures. If you do a search for SGDA, you will find a wealth of other textures for the model. There are also several panels and sounds available for the ac that were made for FSX.

Paste these for you exits, and your jetway and the baggage truck will work:

So yea, thanks the jetways work now but I'm having a serious issue with all my third party aircraft... The entire screen goes white. It goes back if I pan around, but after a few seconds it goes all white again. How can I fix this? My cockpit tool tips are turned off and it only seems to happen on the aircraft that DID NOT come with FSX.

Can't really say what that could be. It is usually a graphic card issue. But a quick fix would be to delete your FSX cfg file and then start the sim. FSX will creat a new default cfg file. If that works for you, the file may have gotten corrupted. That always works for me. Make a backup of your original just in case.
