fs2k2 - What can you do with it?

I haven't got it yet, I've spent $2,500 on a new computer which is supposed to be so fast it does the work before you tell it to!, and I want my flight sim on it... Now I have collected scenery, aircraft doo-dads etc for the other fs versions... now the $100,000 question..... Are they back-compatible???? If not, then I can blow my virtual airline off as they use fsfw/fs98 aircraft converted, are those excellent Raimundo Tamburet meshes useable in it (I'm still whizzing around Afghanistan looking for Bin Liner (whatever!!!)) Iv'e got a stack of addon stuff from World Airport simulation (ukga, uk airports etc...) and about 5 gigs of zipped aircraft collected from this very boutique over the years - Can I use them???? You guys with it already know...
I was reading in the forum that Microsoft may have come up with a new engine for fs2k2, whats the gen chaps????

I'm in the same situation, lot of time spent upgrading fs2000, ending with a 12Gb installation.

The answer is yes and no.

mesh scenery is ok in fs2002
some planes are ok some not
some panels are ok some not
some scenery is ok some not

Most payware i have is not ok.... some publishers will provide patches some not.

Even without any addon's fs2002 makes fs2000 look very pale. I don't think i will use fs2000 ever again.

Hmmmmmmmmm.... anyone in the market for EFIS2000, UKGA, and more especially (its driving me NUTS!) - British Airways flying the 757 - nice graphics - just haven't got the patience or time to retrain (stuck in the 70's with my BAC1-11's....)
