I was born and raised in Southern NJ about 8 mi. W of Atlantic City. In 1949 I flew in one of the bi planes out of Bader Field (KAIY) that towed the advertising signs around the island. One of the pilots was a neighbor and I was a seven-year old kid fascinated with flight, so when asked to go I jumped at the chance. After a short flight out of Bader Field the long signs were hooked on a small island in the bay and towed through the sky for a couple of hours and brought back for the next pick up and top off the tank. Now that I have bored you with stories of my childhood I would like to know the manufacturer of those beautiful old planes. Does anyone know?
