Thread: Move Default Buildings

  1. Default Move Default Buildings

I'm not happy with where the capitol building sits in Olympia, WA in FS9 / 2004. Is there a way to adjust this easily? I would prefer to just tell it a new coordinate position rather than graphically do it, but any way that would work would be great.

    Thanks!
    Keith

You will need to download a program like ExcBuilder2 to exclude the original object (draw a small rectangle around the building and use Exclude Library Objects). Then you will need a program like Instant Scenery to place the building in its proper place. Finding which BGL file it is located in will probably be the hardest part - trial and error...

    Hope this helps,

No, he wants to move the building to correct place the default original place was incorrect. I doubt or afraid that we don't have program to move building. Wait for reply back someone else could answer your question back soon.

    Thanks,

    Stuart

    ???

Yes and the suggestion will accomplish just that. Delete the original object placement and replace it where tou want.

I agree with Tom - exclude and replace. Any object placer program should be able to do the placement. We do it all the time.

I wonder if it is part of the seatac.bgl in the generic scenery/cities/seatle folder. Olympia is about 30 nm SW of KSEA.

No way to "move" an object, as stated, exclude and replace.

To help, the building on the left is default, on the right is placed by EZ-Scenery...

...the object is in ...\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\Generic\scenery\generic.bgl and can be placed with most any scenery object placer.

If you use EZ-Scenery make sure to click on the top left button labeled "library" and check all the boxes.

    Hope this helps.

FYI, I believe the "Cities" folders only deal with the photoreal ground textures.

The custom objects for the cities (buildings and such) come from specific cityname.bgl files, such as ...\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\Namw\Scenery\Seattle.bgl, as an example.
