    Default RTW Retro Flight #7 – Tokyo, Haneda to Hong Kong, Kai Tak . . . . . . Oct., 1963

    11. After a series of course adjustments our heading is due east as we continue our decent. We’re assigned visual to Runway 13 at Kai Tak.

    12. About five miles from Kai Tak we pass the bridge between Ma Wan and Tsing Yi Islands.

    13. With Lion Rock Hill just off our port side we descend toward the famous checkerboard and the Rwy. 13 approach lights mounted on towers.

    14. Over the approach lights and nearing our turn toward short final. Our speed is about 115 KIAS.

    15. A hard turn to starboard. The quick forty seven degree turn scrubs off about ten knots of speed, but that’s OK.

    16. We come out of the turn over the lights and are lining up the runway. Our altitude is good.

    17. Touchdown.

    18. Taxiing toward the terminal.

    19. Nearing the gate.

    20. Engines shut down and passengers disembarked. Thanks for flying Japan Airlines.

    Nice shots Larry my friend!

The retro stuff is nice to look at. Are you one of those triple head to go people as well with such nice wide screen pictures?
