Default A-12A 'Avenger II' in FSX

Greetings fellow simmers. Did not find videos of the A-12A anywhere at YouTube so I made one. Video shows off my flight dynamics for it (not done yet). It's just routine: TO, Carrier Land/Launch, buzz the Golden Gate, and land back at 'base'. 3 min 20 sec's length. Will be uploading FDE's for it here 'next tuesday'. I need to see if I can make it go Mach 4 in FSX Acceleration (they say it won't do it-we'll see). Cheers.

    napamule2,

Cool video, Did you land the A12 on the carrier the first time? it took me several times to land the F4U-1 on it in CFS2.

    Default No Replay

    Raptor22,
Hey thanks buddy. Yeah, I landed it 3 times and hit the #3 wire each time, but the hook did not grab. You can't do 'instant replay' (and I can't install FSRecorder due to 'simconnect' problems) so it's shot LIVE with Fraps. The 3rd time I just used the spoiler, parking brakes and rev thrust to stop it. I did not fix hook's postition and/or length yet. I am planning on uploading an 'update' for it when I get it all working right, and able to do at least M 2.5. Soon ('next tuesday'-ha).

Too busy trying to make the Concorde to go Mach 4 (got it going M 2.25, 1200 kts). They say with SP2 you won't be able to do high speeds (we'll see about that). And all day I was replacing cfg's (a/c, model, panel AND sound cfg's) for about 40 a/c as I did a restore and 'poof', they were gone. Hate when that happens. But I have backups. I spent 4 hrs doing 'copy/paste + rename'.

Well, never had CFS. But I imagine it's the same. Set up heading on your HSI, use only 1 of flaps, and PLENTY of up pitch trim (more than you usually use) and then make tiny input to joy, aiming for 80 kts (120 kts for jets) at touchdown. The up pitch trim allows you to fly 'level' at lower speeds. But adjust the throttle CONSTANTLY for best 'profile' since you can't be using elevators, as they messes your 'glide path'. Hope this helps you.

    napamule2,

GO Longhorns! I was born in FT.Worth, but most of my childhood was spent in Casper Wyo. Love the Tetons,
and Yellowstone. Jackson Hole is beautiful too.
