    Hi Mark,

Thanks for doing a test image. Looks excellent to me from here.

Any way you can mail the texture file to me? It would be for my viewing only in FS.

I have some other shots from a fellow who was up close to the plane which might help. Hopefully someone would want to do this plane.

I got out the paintkit images for the Caravelle just for fun, and could not figure out how to do layers in Photoshop Elements. I know it is possible to add layers, but when I tried, the layer image, where I'd paste graphics from the photo, would not show up.
    Probably something simple.

Mark, if you get the urge to do a repaint, I can email you these photos I have, but with the owner's permission of course. He probably will be ok with it.

Will check back soon, take care,
    Gary.

    Hi Gary
I can send you the PSD no problem , I will have to tidy it up a little , as I said it only took an hour .
Don't know what is happening for you with Photoshop elements.
It is as the name describes a very basic photo editing suite .
Are you pasting the Image as a new layer ?
Also check the layer you are pasting is not below the base paint layer .

Any way if you PM me your email address I will send you the PSD

    Mark

    Hi Mark,
Just checking back in to keep the thread somewhat alive

I have not heard anything about the (real) plane being scrapped as of yet. Hopefully it can be taken somewhere where it can be semi-restored, even for a display.

    Take care,
    Gary.

    Hi Gary

I just have a one or two more repaints to do for VA I am working with then I will be able to spend a lot more time with this repaint .
Work has not stopped on it , I am still trying to perfect the "mass production " of the measles effect in between helicopter repaints.
Once I have made some progress worth speaking of with it I will let you know

    Hi Mark,
How are you? I know you mentioned about having other repaints going on, and that's cool. No hurry on the repaint of the Caravelle, it's just whenever you get the time, that's perfect

I tried a few times to do some sort of repainting, but just can't get it right. The layers is what get me. I know the purpose of a layer, it's just that I can't seem to create one. Well, I can create a layer and name it, but there is no blank space to put anything on.

I found some tutorials on repainting but need about an hour to sit down and concentrate on what I am doing (or not doing).
I had an old copy of PSP 7 , and some of the older tutorials use this program. Just need to find it and reload. The Photoshop Elements I do have supports layers, but I will have to learn how to use all the features correctly.

There was one layer in the Caravelle paint kit that only showed some text, not an image. Maybe that's a layer that is not used or something.

Graphics isn't my forte, but if you gace me a vintage radio to repair, I'd be able to do that in a jiffy
OK, gotta sleep. Take care Mark and thanks again.
    Gary.

    Hi there Mark,
I'm stilll here. Saw you are still busy with other repaints, and that's fine. Don't want to bug you about this possible repaint again, but is there any chance you would still take on this scheme in the near future?

If so, that would be great. But just wanted to let you know, I have not lost interest in the plane and abandoned the idea.

    Take care,
    Gary.

    Hi Gary

    Just caught this post .

I am still playing with this repaint ,although it mostly involves opening it , tinkering with it , then swear at it , and close

I do apologise for not keeping you informed on the progress , or lack there of , but I am not giving up on it , the AFG Caravelle paint kit is a good one , so I will keep plugging away at it

    Hi there Mark,
Thanks.... I just wanted you to know that I haven't lost interest and disappeared

No need to apologize or anything, and good to hear that you haven't forgot me .

For me, this time of year keeps me busy doing things like yardwork, and such....so little time to mess with FS. That is, unless I stay up 'til 3 AM , lol

Take care Mark, and will talk to you later,
    Gary.
