    Hi

It will run but it will be extreenmly slow and choppy. Im running it on a pentium 3 667mhz 128mb ram 32mb 3d card and the settings are about half way, It runs ok most of the time apart from functions on the gps taking ages to load, takes ages to change views and sometimes can take a while to load textures.

It taks a while to get the setting right and with you you wll probly have to have all the sliders right down.

Do you run FS2000 on your computer. if you do what are your framerates. It will run but you might not get good frame rates. If you did you would need to put the sliders way down and then you wouldn't get to great frame rates.

    It's worth a try though.

Hey! I have the exact same PC as you. You must have a Presario 5441.

Here's the deal: I used to play FS98, and got ~8fps at low settings, so I upgraded to an ATI Radeon 32mb SDR PCI (I have no AGP slots), and had ~30fps at max settings. So I bought FS2002, and now get ~8fps at low-medium settings. It is good enough for me. 8fps in FS2002 seems like 20fps in FS98. I would severely recommend you buy a Graphics card. For only $50, you can probably get a Radeon or GeForce 2 MX. Then you will be ready to play FS2002.

    My Specs:
    Compaq Presario 5441
    AMD K6-2 475mhz
    192 mb PC100 RAM
    Upgraded 40 Gig Maxtor HDD
Upgraded ATI Radeon 32 mb SDR PCI (50%+ performance increase)
Upgraded Creative ALbs Sound Balster Audigy MP3 (0% increase)
    17" Monitor
    Logitech Force 3D FF joystick

Yea it would run but not so good. you would have to drop the graphics so much you would loose everything that makes 2002 differ from 2000.

    Right now im runing:
    Athlon 1.33ghz T-Bird
    Geforce 2 GTS
    512mb SDRAM
    SBLIVE 5.1

Im sitting her wising I had a better machine for 2002. I run with every detail full except terrain mes complexity at 50% and i turn off autogen(only thing that looks good is the trees anyway)

depending on on which plane the weather and the scenery i get between 15 - 60fps at 1280x1024 32 bit color.

I would expect your machine to be luch to pull 30 fps even with alot of the detail turned down

Sorry, but I have to say, WRONG. First, I don't have FS2000, I jumped from FS98. Secondly, i could not run FS2000 at 8fps. I really enjoy FS2002. I have autogen on at normal, terrain at normal, aircraft texture at high, virtual panel at high, effects at medium and water off ATC is set at 2%. It is still WAY better than FS 2000. At last the water is not just a blue texture, it is ACTUALLY water. Plus, I like the ATC. Anyway, I hope to get an Athlon XP 1800+ soon.

You forgot that I have an AMD K6, which is the worst processor ever built. Even a 400 mhz P3 can beat it. Plus, I have one 128mb memory stick at CL2, and the other 64 mb stick at CL3, in other words, both run at CL3. I you don't know what CL means, it means how many cycles it takes the PC to find a specific location on the memory. Performance wise, the CL is second most important only to clock speed. The lower the CL, the better. For example a CL2 330mhz stick is slower than a CL2 266mhz stick. See the importance of CL? Sorry, I'm getting carried away. Note: CL is the same as CAS, which means Column Addres Search.

I run 2002 with a K6-2 350Mhz. I just have most sliders way down. My video card is a Radeon 7000. Ram is 320 mb. I still have a heck of a good time flying. Sure, the scenery is not photographic but as long as the runway is clear I'm reasonably happy.

HOWEVER, I have an upgrade on the way! :-) When ready to upgrade, check ebay.

OOOOOOO....you POOR people with your GHz machines. "I wish I had a new machine for FS2002..." Give me a BREAK! I'm on a Celeron 533 Mhz, GeForce 2 MX 400 PCI, 256 MB RAM, (I've maxed everything out for this cheap Intel-based processor, and I still get 5 FPS in KSFO with settings mid-low and the rejected default FS2000 mooney bravo!!!!!) Jeese, I bought the DF Archer, but i can only fly in north dakota or iowa, somewhere where i can get 10 FPS becuase the land is flat! JJJJJEEEEEESSSSSSSS SlimDady, you're PC should be just fine for 2002, please don't think you need a better one when there's still a ton of sufferers out here with low-end systems!

My PC is around 3 years old now, IBM P2 350 MHz, 352 MB RAM and a GForce 2 64MB card. With max detail but no autogen scenery i am getting around 15-20 FPS. Don't realy see the need to spend thousands upgrading!
