Haven't heard much about this in the last year...?
I can't think of any team I'd rather have do this aircraft than DreamFleet.

You know, it's sad, I don't know. This is probably the first post I've made in many, many, many months, in fact, I wouldn't doubt it if my last post was sometime in 2008. I know that, for me, developing anything for FSX has been impossible. In early 2009, my computer fried itself, and I can't get the FSX gamepack to work since I moved to my new computer. I can't get FSX to work, either. Every attempt I've made with what little time I've had has been one technical problem after another, and, quite frankly, I've spent the last year trying to put myself back together after a nasty breakup, a falling out with my then-housemates (my best friend and his then-girlfriend-now-wife), a seriously bad relationship with a sociopath who conned/stole a few thousand from me, and the reality of working in a factory 40+ hours a week, so trying to fix the multitude of problems associated with getting FSX to even work is more than I'm apt to handle without grabbing a baseball bat and turning my computer into a pile of smouldering rubbish, along with anyone else in the room. Reality bites. I'm putting my life back together. I have some debts to pay off. Work, work, overtime, work.
I'm considering uprooting myself, moving to somewhere like Seattle, and starting with a clean slate.
I guess I intended the DC-8 to be a sort of last hurrah, and maybe when I can sort myself out, I can turn it into that, but as things stand right now, my plate is too full with real life.
I'm going to guess that's not the answer you were hoping for. I'm actually going to go out on a limb and say that's not what a lot of people would have hoped to hear from me after all this time. Well, I'm sorry. I could have probably sent some emails, but in all honesty, it didn't even figure in the back of my head. I was just too busy.
I've turned to diesel locomotives. Putting one locomotive together, one tiny, manageable bit at a time is some pretty good therapy. I think I release maybe two in a year. Most of them are just unfinished models from last year. I installed an air reservoir box behind the fuel tank on a GP10 model yesterday. One tiny part probably took me a few hours. I've been running it paired with one of Marc Nelson's GP9s, and I must say, it puts a grin on my face.
Time for me to go again. I need to get as much sleep as I can. Early start tomorrow. Got lots of pawning and running to do before work.

Hi Erick,
I'm very sorry to hear that you are struggling with so many problems. Of course, in such a case, flight simulation and creating models are on the bottom of the priority list. I really hope you will be able to sort out your problems. I wish you all the best for the future!![]()
However, let's hope Paul has a 'Plan B' or something...it would be sad if the DC-8 would go the same way as the ArlinerXP Airbus...
Greetings
Tim
Hello Erick,
I too am truly sorry to hear all this. For as far as I know, you are a beacon of light in the freeware community when it comes to modeling, and at one time or another I probably used most of your models. I'm truly saddened to hear this bad news. I have complete understanding for your position, however, and I'll just have to be more patient. After all, FS is going nowhere right now, and the DC-8 I have now will serve me fine for now.
I guess I can't do a lot too make your situation any better than it is, but if I can help in some way or another, you may ask. You have given us so much; it would be selfish not to do anything in return.
Erick, wouldn't it be nice if we could in fact, write the program for women? They are an unknown entity and after two previous attempts I am with a genuine, faithful wife. It's a costly business though.
You are 'well respected' in the world of flightsim and I hope everything works out for you eventually, as I am sure it will.
