Thread: Lockheed L-749 Constellation

  1. #1

    Thumbs up Lockheed L-749 Constellation

The newest freeware FS9/FSX rendering of this beautiful classic bird by Manfred Jahn & Team.

Available right here in the Flightsim library, this newest FS Connie features several models/variants and liveries. The only thing lacking is a soundset, and with some searching, many suitable sound packages are available at the usual FS websites.

This is a very complex aircraft and needs to be flown by the numbers, especially with startup, takeoff - departure and landing - if you don't do it right the engines will quit on you.

Anyhow, some screenies from my initial test flight tonight with the Eastern Air Lines aircraft, featuring the "Speedpack" cargo pod underneath.

A USAF MATS C-121A operating out of modern Beale AFB with proper U-2's and others on the ramp.

Finally - For Jan - The KLM "Flevoland" Connie being restored at Lelystad in Holland. Seen here departing EHAM Amsterdam at dusk.

If you are up to the challenge, this is a fantastic addon! Images posted here suffer in quality due to resizing to fit ...

    Cheers & Enjoy! Mike

It's a beauty. Nice pics. Mike. Just got it myself and flew into KSFO 28R. She hand flies like a dream. Didn't have my camera loaded though.
