Default An easy way to post youtube videos.

When you find a video you wish to post, from the youtube site, click on the "embed" link, copy it, and then come here, post your pre-video comments, click the YouTube Icon. Then paste your "embed" URL between the brackets. This will then display the YouTube video screen.

and the code looks like this when you're in post:

    Default Question

    Darrell,
I usually turn off that embed feature for my videos at YouTube because they get posted to sites all over the place and even if they don't charge for viewing the video, they DO have all these advertisement that they make money from. IE: they take your property, use it on their site, even change the author's name to THEIR name (because they 'posted' it on THEIR site). Not very polite. They do NOTHING in the form of any WORK (making videos is hard work) but the do reap the profits from your work. I don't like that at all (Bogus!!!).

So my question is, can I just use the LINK directly in post? I would perfer it, but if for some reason it is not 'politically correct' then I will not use that method. Thanks for your time.

Use which ever method you wish to use, Chuck. By using the embed button, it shows the player within your post, whereas (if I understand correctly) you are presented with a clickable link within the post.

    Use either one.

    P. S.---I don't do much Youtube viewing, so I don't know much about them.

    Default Don't Do It

    Darrell,
You Tube is top quality, and although they have lots of junk (of every type-you name it), it does have all sorts of real and simulator videos of everything that is flying (past and present). YouTube keeps improving (faster servers) and they treat you right, so it's not like other 'tubes'. So don't start or you'll be hooked (like me). 'Wasted days...' comes to mind.
