Wow, what an excellent tutorial. THank you very much. ANd honestly there is alot of stuff in there to know that I dont all get yet perfectly. Im gonna actually gonna have to study it for some time
From what I read it is not as easy as just intalling the different files (REX, GEX, etc.....) unfortunatly there will be some glitches along the way when you add a bunch off different scenery software. Im actually first going to look into all the different scenery software out there and see what everyone is using and which one seem to go best together.

Definately get Real Environment Xtreme REX 2.
I've gone outside, looked up at the sky, and thought, "wow! that looks
just like REX!". (REX is that realistic)

Also get Ultimate Terrain X and Ground Environment X.
All three work perfectly together, with virtually no negative impact on
    frame rates.
    Intel Core i7 975 Extreme (3.86GHz)
    12GB Corsair Memory
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 285
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

I would try UTX without GEX first and see what you think. I am still not convinced that GEX had that much impact. At least not where I have been flying.

Certainly "looks different" but for me the jury is still out on if it is my preference to have it installed.

If I could only buy one updrage per year? Knowing what I know now would go like this...

FREE MESH - Free Canadian 19m Mesh to replace the default 79m mesh Microsoft used. (this is the wireframe ground shape of the world below). Payware like FS Global 2008 is mainly 76M mesh and most of N America is 38m mesh already and other meshes are free. Just google Free Terrain Mesh for FSX and there is a site with all of it covered. Newer payware is now out with 19m and 10m wide coverage but then alot of airports are up on pedestals or in deep sink holes due to altitude issues with the airports themselves. If your going to pay for Mesh they better have corrected that crap.

UTX for my countries landclass so the ground is more google earthish accurate. Farm where farm should be, Urban where urban should be and rivers and lakes shaped and placed where they should be. Canada in my case. Also UTX upgrades night lighting.

REX2 for environementals. Sky and water surface appearance.

GEX is optional in my opinoin although I did buy it to play around. Not using it in my current build this time around. Will decide some other time.

Individual Ultra Detail locations like Alaska fjords and the upcomming FTX Pacific Northwest. Super detail and hand built for accuracy instead of simply using landclass and autogen tiling. Made specifically to make you want to fly low and slow and fill your hard drive full of screenshots. Amazing.

    Charles.
