Thread: Sound not quite right

    Default Sound not quite right

I have been using FSX for quite some time now very happily but one thing that has always slightly bugged me is the sound just doesn't seem quite right. For example if I am in a 737 during takeoff and use the external tail view I would expect somewhat more of roar from the jet engines. The same goes very oddly tame reverse thrust and somewhat inconsistant sounds depending on the view.

I am hoping that there is something nice and simple I can do / add-on as to date I have never adjusted any of the setup / config files and wouldn't know where to start?

Any help as always much appreciated.

    Thanks

The tss 737 sounds is an option but if you do a search in the file library here youll find a 737 sound pack for free. Great addon it gives you a sense of how powerful the engines actually are

I tried that free addon, and honestly I prefer the default sounds. They definitely do sound more powerful (on the outside), but from the cockpit it sounds like the engines are mounted on the cockpit windows!!! Just a bit overwhelming in my humble opinion. A nice mix 'n' match of the default/addons may be in order.

Aircraft engine sounds are trial and error my freind. Many downloads claim to have authentic sounding engines. Then when you download them most have silent streaming sound effects. ! But trial and error you come across the sound files that knock you out of your seat!

I would give you a list of all the sound files I have downloaded for all my aircraft, But wasn't really prepared for that. I will hook you up tomorrow with a full list if ya still interested.

Trust me these sounds are so real, your neighboors are going to get pissed off when you blast them! My neighboor works at the airport loading luggage on planes! When I blast my sim it pissess him off cause he says I wake him up thinking he's still at work!
