In this review (which I really can't understand what they are saying), look at the grass and runway and some of the other textures on the ground! Especially in the flyby pics.

I have GEX but I have not seen that level of detail on the ground.

    Would that be REX?

I suspect a lot of those pictures are photoshopped and edited.

I'd give anything for ground scenery that sharp and clear.

Anyway, they just convinced me to buy the Carenado Seneca II.

That's FTX Australia (Blue). One of the take-off shots is at Aeropelican (YPEC).

I have posted a similar shot before:

Update: I made a mistake and typed UTX. Meant FTX! (sorry for the error)

I have UTX Canada. None of my stuff looks that cool.

What the frick. I even have GEX!

Are the UTX guys now adding custom textures like GEX uses?

That looks far better than anything I have flown around at in UTX+GEX Canada.

It looks like a custom photo background had been added for the airport. Works great one airport at a time, if you can find high quality source photos and the detail doesn't require a huge texture file.

Just a minor correction...I suspect that the scenery is FTX from ORBX...their scenery is the best available, IMO. I have their Tamworth airport and the AU Blue freeware, which covers Tasmania....it's simply fantastic. To date, FTX includes only Australia, but a Pacific Northwest (N America) scenery is due out any day...can't wait. Check all of it out at www.fullterrain.com

Nice scenery but the graphics settings might have been cranked up to make it look even better for screenshots.
Whether we have the PC power to actually play it at max settings is another matter..

You'd be surprised...I have a mid-range system (Q9550, 4 GB RAM, 275GTX) and with the PMDG J4100 (no simple aircraft there), the scenery, even at DENSE to VERY DENSE settings, does not provide a significant framerate hit. Try it...FTX provides a demo region, Tasmania, along with several freeware airports of terrific quality.

That's a bit better than a "mid range" system.
