Default Weather causing FSX to shut down

I just re-installed FSX after adding Windows 7. Whenever I select "real world weather," the simulator shuts down completely. I've checked the firewall and internet settings. Anyone have any idea what could cause this?
Edit: Thanks for the replies. I found the problem - the "weather" file was missing. My fault.

I just installed Windows 7 Professional x64. Soon I will be painfully installing all FSX and related. Will be back again.

Good luck! I'm anxious to hear how it turns out.

    A few things to try.

Delete existing fsx.cfg and let FSX rebuild a new one.

Install/re-install C++ library update. Make absolutely sure you select the right one for your Operating System.

    Install/re-install the latest DirectX update.
