Thread: ADF in Archer III

    Default ADF in Archer III

Having been spoiled by the GPS, I decided to go back to basics and brush up my skills on ADF flying. I then realized that the ADF gauge in the Archer III is a rotatable compass type, which is pretty outdated. Is the real Archer equipped with such a gauge, and is it possible to replace the FS version it with a more modern RMI? Tracking a bearing in a wind can be awfully difficult because you have to be continually resetting the heading to read the correct bearing and don't have enough hands.

You can edit the panel.cfg of the archer and chage the entry of the ADF for an RMI with the same position/size.
You can use the default RMI from MSFS or copy one from another plane.

    Default Adf rmi

Thanks for that tip. I'm not into gauge design so didn't think of that. I'll investigate it further.

    Cheers
