External Drive

Hi All,
I use an external drive devoted to FS9, and it works fine. Recently though Ive had issues trying to install United Aircraft. All UVA fleet has its on installer which is great right, only thing is its presetup to install in the C drive and as you know Im on a different drive, naturally I select the desired Aircraft folder in my external drive, the aircraft files do unfold in the correct drive but they do not display when I try to select from the airplane selection window?

I have also tried all the variations that ( I ) can think of such as following help installation files but Im still not getting a result. If you feel you have an easy workaround for this situation then please post.

Lastly, what is the tweak for viewing pdf' charts whilst still running FS9 in the middle of flight so that the flight does not stop when switching between the two?
