Hello
What's the best model out there for an extra 300 or similar aircraft that is used in the red bull air races? I find the default FS9 models too sensitive in pitch and roll.

I saw this post and went straight to thinking about the Christen Eagle II by Long Island Classics. One of the most used planes in my hangar, very impressive visuals, stunning flight model, and though it doesn't appear in Red Bull races, I would recommend it.
If you want a good Extra 300-similar plane, get FSX. I would recommend nothing else, there are no decent models out there for FS2004. In FSX, there is a very good model with lovely flight dynamics, and is the best default model on frame rates (It is used as the comparison for payware products in terms of performance, with Lotus Sim's L-39 just having clipped the faster mark).
Also, in FSX, there is Red Bull liveries by default and a Red Bull race track, though get the Acceleration pack and you get a further 3 real courses and the ability to race online! Amazing, get it.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have FSX + acceleration. Problem I have it my PC is too crap to run FSX. Maybe I will reinstall just for the red bull air race. I did enjoy trying to beat my best time. When I started to explore FSX further I realised my PC sucked.

Yes, the plague of fast-with-anything-except-FSX PCs.
Reinstall FSX, and try these settings:
(go on to customise for best results)
Graphics
Target frame rate: about 35
Resolution:max your screen can handle with the last number being x32, not x16
Filtering:trilinear
Anti Aliasing: on (turn off if you are still seeing bad performance)
Global Texture Resolution:very high
Preview DX10: off
Lens flare: on
Light bloom: DEFINATELTY OFF
Advanced animations: off
Aircraft
Global settings:medium high
Scenery
Level of detail radius: Medium/small
Mesh complexity: about 35
Mesh resolution: about 10 m
Texture resolution:1m
Water effects:high 1x/mid 2x
Land detail textures: on
Scenery complexity: dense
Autogen density: dense/normal, depending on performance
Special effects detail:high
Weather
Global settings:medium high
Traffic
All off
Good luck, I hope to race you online sometime.
By the way, you have a very decent processor, which is what FSX is dependant on. Download the SP1 and SP2 for much better performance. And to get better performance, get a better graphics card, I would recommmend an 8800GT or 9800GT minimum.
Also, when FSX is loaded, press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and go onto Processes. Right click on FSX and press Set Affinity. Untick Core 0, leave Core 1. Also, download GameBooster free, I heartily recommend it.
