Thread: A Special Visitor To CYRO Rockcliffe

Default A Special Visitor To CYRO Rockcliffe

The rarely seen De Havilland Dash-7 operated by Air Tindi, a Canadian operater based at Yellowknife in the Northern Territories.

Some pics of my short-field attempt here. Turned out well, especially with the huge flaps and spoilers as well as the very powerful BETA / thrust-reverse capabilities of this aircraft.

A very big aircraft with amazing STOL capabilities. Get it here at Flightsim for FS9...

The livery should be available here as well.

Excellent pics. I love those northern workhorses. That aircraft was built in the same factory as the Otter and the Beaver before it. They have an excellent museum there now.

    Great post

A few months ago, a friend of mine got into FS2004 and asked if I would redo KBGR for him....Bangor, Maine. So I set off, AFCAD and Google Earth open. When I got to the SW side of the the airport where the fighters were once staged, there was a sight that made my heart sag: several Dash-7s, sans engines, sitting on a ramp...God knows what fate had in store for them next. A heartbreaker, indeed.

Yes, it is a shame to see these aircraft go to waste ... If I am correct only 113 airframes were ever made. Such a capable aircraft.

Thanks for your comment CB! Mike
