Smile Colour And Size Of X In Map View

I have great difficulty seeing the X in map view, partly because the lines are so fine and also that particular colour of red can be very hard to see for many men - partial red/green colour blindness

As I have read that all colours are represented by numbers can anyone guide me to the file location and also give me some idea for an alternative symbol. line thickness and colour eg: the V and dot centering tools are black

    Many thanks

    Graeme

Yes, tweaking files is your best bet but I don't know how to do it myself, so in the meantime as a rough stopgap solution you might like to try going to top-down view and pausing the sim, then juggle the zoom keys (- and =) to get your aircraft visible in the centre of the crosshairs (finetune the zoom with SHIFT - and =) then unpausing so it looks something like this-
