    Default FSX Constantly Reloading Scenery

I have had a problem for a long time with FSX reloading scenery all the time--sometimes 8 or 9 times in a two-hour flight. It is very annoying since it temporarily interupts FSX. On ocassion it has done this during the last few seconds of approach and landing. If it happens enough times during flight, FSX will come back with the windshield totally black and a strange-looking texture in the side window views. The solution for that is to go to the Display settings and force FSX to reload the scenery. I cannot imagine what is going on, here, or why I have never read about anyone else having the problem. If there is a solution, I would greatly appreciate knowing about it.

I think I read somewhere quite a while ago that this phenomenon may actually be related to FSUIPC and SimConnect.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you,

    Tim

Hi Tim, If you're using fsuipc, it could be syncing the sim time with the system time, forcing the scenery reload. Go into fsuipc options and try turning this feature off.

    Hi Kendall,

You were right on it, my friend. As soon as I read your post I remembered why I stopped using FS Real Time with FSX. It was causing FSX to do that reloading thing all the time. And I mean all the time! I had to shut down FSX and uninstall it. But, the problem persisted--just not as bad.

I have been dealing with this problem since October of 2006 when I bought FSX. I thought it was just something I was going to have to live with.

Thank you, my friend. I would have never connected the two events.

Cool, you're very welcome. Glad it's finally solved for you. Thank you for the kind words.
